Volunteers are at the heart of KXCC

Give a few hours, gain a community

What our volunteers do

Volunteers are the heart of the Kings Cross Community Centre

  • In the Op Shop, front and back of house, sorting, steaming and pricing donations. Giving every customer a warm welcome.

  • On the Book Stall, sorting books and chatting with local bibliophiles.

  • Out in the community, supporting older locals, transport to appointments, a hand with shopping or simply catching up over coffee.

  • At reception and in the office, helping keep KXCC running smoothly every day.

How to Volunteer

Getting started is easy: Application forms are available at the Op Shop, office reception or online.

Our Volunteer Co-ordinator will be in touch for a quick chat.

All volunteers have a compulsory 45 minute induction to meet the team and learn how we work. We organise and pay for NSW police check for every volunteer who joins us. We’re looking forward to meeting you.

Why Volunteer?

  • Belong: there's a place for you here, whatever your age or background.

  • Make a difference close to home: practical help that genuinely contributes to our community.

  • Be the first to hear about our latest events:: volunteers and members are first to every celebration and social gathering.
